Five local authors packed the house at the Three Mugs Brewing Company on Saturday, March 28, 2015. And a kindly patron / fan bought me a beer! The third in a series of author events begun by local publishing guru Jason Brick, the evening event competed with spring break plans for many in the greater Hillsboro area. But a good time, and a packed house, was enjoyed by all. A fourth event is being planned for this summer. (Photo attributions include: Bob McKee, Jessica Smith, Nancy Townsley and James Wakeman.)
- Linda Mercury started the event off, reading from her newest book, Vamping It Up
- April Aasheim organized the event and read from her newest book, The Magick of Dark Root
- Chad Coenson and director (whose name I hope to add), presented the book and future film, Me and Bobby McGee
- Spring Break crowd enjoyed the readings
- Linda Mercury and new fan, Bob McKee getting his head rubbed.
- Western novelist Gregg Townsley read from his book True Believer
- Townsley explaining what it’s like to write historical fiction
- April Aasheim took, and MC Raymond Macalino, took charge of the event. Another Books and Beers may take place this summer.
- A good crowd, some book fans and plenty of brew friends, packed the brew pub.
- Bob and Phyllis Stoner’s new purchase. Bob wasn’t the least bit embarrassed holding Linda’s book.
- “The Streamtress,” shown here with some new fans from St. Helens, brought energy and humor to the party.
- A quick picture of all of the authors and presenters for the March 28, 2015 event. Some said it was the best line-up yet.
- Coenson and the Me and Bobby McGee film director, showed a story board of the future film.
- Authors brought their books to sell. But the beer outsold the books.
- Linda Mercury set off car horns in the parking lot with her steamy reading from Vamping It Up.
- Inside and outside seating at Three Mugs Brewing Company in Hillsboro made things real comfortable.
- From Hillsboro to Hollywood (hopefully)
- This was the third reading at Three Mugs Brewing Company in the last couple of years
- Literary novelist, Jason Gurley offered a soon-to-be published short story
- April’s Magick of Dark Root series has become an Amazon best seller
- Three Mugs Brewing Company, a dozen or more beers on tap, and dog friendly.
